Prof. Gerd Gigerenzer is a world-renowned psychologist, a leading thinker in the field of heuristics, and the director emeritus at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin. His groundbreaking research has shown us how we, as humans, navigate complexity through the power of simple yet effective heuristics. Today he was helping us to cultivate risk literacy. My co-host Adam Widawski joined the conversation and both made sure that human intelligence in times of artificial intelligence and algorithmic superstructures is far from obsolete. Covering Cassandra’s regret, The Rationality Wars, and Ecological Rationality, it was a true pleasure to do this type of polylogue in order to access various topics from multiple perspectives.
